Praying for Our Communities

Pray with us through these scriptures for victory in our communities. Community could be our spouses, our families, our work-spaces, our residential areas. All these circles where we have influence. Meditate on God’s divine and sovereign power to step in to rescue His people.

Life in Abundance

Sanctity of life is defined as the principle that all human life is sacred, inherently valuable, and deserving of protection and respect because it is created in the image of God.

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”.

Psalm 139:13 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb”.

All life is sacred. We also have a responsibility to help the poor, the widow, the orphan, the elderly, the immigrant, the disadvantaged, and the underserved.

Zechariah 7:9-10 “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other”.

Our prayer: 

-That the laws that legalise abortions would be overturned.

-That the lobbyists who try to legalise euthanasia would be overturned.

-That the ‘death culture’ that the enemy is promoting globally and infiltrates into gaming programmes and other digital platforms online would fail and be cancelled, and be replaced by creative technology features that celebrate life.

-That children would be protected from games and challenges that promote suicide or being lured into demonic practices.

-That faith communities would address difficult issues that used to be avoided.

-That faith communities will be open to receive and empower their leadership with the “Flight to freedom” concept and implement it as a resource.

-That Valuable to Jesus will be effectively presented at an accelerating rate with follow-up ‘clubs’ and small group discussions. That it would become part of the curriculum, together with other initiatives to empower children to make good life choices.

Deuteronomy 30:19+20 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, 20 love the LORD your God, obey him, and remain faithful to him”.

Identity, value and worth

The heart of VTJ message and of the Good News of the Gospel…

Most people’s challenges usually relate back to their struggle with these concepts because of trauma, lack of a loving, nurturing childhood, and many other reasons that the enemy uses to let them believe his lies.

We pray today: (You choose for which person(s) / generation or whoever the Holy Spirit puts on your heart)

-That God would reveal Himself to them and that they would truly recognise and accept Him as their Father, Jesus as their Saviour and King and that they would receive the Holy Spirit as their Guide, Comforter and Strength.

Genesis 16:13 “(The Angel of the Lord appears to Hagar in the desert). You are El-Roi, I have seen the One who sees me”

John 4:1-42 (Jesus meets the woman at the well) 26 Jesus told her, “I, the one speaking to you, am he.”

Luke 19:10 “(Zaccheus and his family) For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

Psalm 139:13-18 “I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began”.

Matthew 18:10-14 The Parable of the Lost Sheep. “And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over that sheep more than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. In the same way, it is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones perish.”

Luke 15:8-10 “The Parable of the Lost Coin tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.” 

John 10:27-30 “My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

Identity, value and worth pt.2

We continue on Identity, Value and Worth.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

One commentator puts it: ‘The Lord’s Supper which was instituted by Jesus and which is the only regular commemorative act authorised by Him, dramatises neither His birth nor His works, but only His death.’ It was by His death, for our redemption, that He wished above all else to be remembered.

An encounter with the Living God, rewrites our entire self-concept. The cross doesn’t just change our circumstances, it changes who we are.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation “

In Christ, identity is no longer tied to where we came from, what we did wrong, or what we accomplished. Our past isn’t denied but it loses its power to define us. At the cross a new reality opened: we became new human beings, shaped by grace, rather than guilt or achievement. When we are healed from brokenness and freed from guilt and shame, it becomes our testimony.

In Jesus we gain a new identity, not something we have to earn, but something we receive. If we live from this identity, we do not have to prove anything anymore, we are drawn into God’s bigger story, it creates a new beginning. 

Romans 6:4 “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”.

Help for Predators

Let us commit the following to God in this prayer session. Meditate on the following:

For the lost — the online ‘predators’ and perpetrators in general causing, havoc in communities. They are confused and brainwashed by strange ideologies and all who are controlled by evil spirits.

God doesn’t want anyone to perish…

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

We pray that God will draw them to Him…

John 6:44 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.”

That they will no longer be blinded by the lies of Satan.

2 Corinthians 4:4 “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them”.

That obedient believers will lovingly reach out to them.

Matthew 9:36-38 “But when He (Jesus) saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”

That they will accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”.

That they will turn away from their sin.

Acts 3:19 “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”. 

That they will surrender to God.

2 Corinthians 5:14+15 “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again”.

Love and Trust the Lord with all your heart

Deuteronomy 6:5 “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” 

Matthew 22:37 “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’”

Proverbs 3:5-6 ““Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”

2 Chronicles 25:2 “And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not with a whole heart.

(Sadly, Amaziah later turned away from God and his reign ended catastrophically)

2 Chronicles 31:21 (King Hezekiah) “And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered”.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers (obsessed) of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power”.

Prayer:

Thank you Father God for always being so faithful and merciful.

You are Alpha and Omega.

You have not changed, You are still the same God of which we read from Genesis to Revelation. Thank you for your unconditional love, and that You loved us first.

All You desire from us is to love You with all our of our hearts, to completely surrender to You and completely trust in You.

As we read throughout Scripture about all who fully loved and trusted You, You considered them as ‘friends’, and as ‘men after Your heart’ blessing them with Your guidance, Your presence and Your favour.

We fully commit our lives to You, and trust in You guiding us in all that we plan and do.

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’

Says the LORD of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”

“Selah”: Stand, Position yourselves

Psalm 46:10-11 ““Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth. The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah”. 

Habakkuk 3:3-4 “God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens, and His praise filled the earth.” 

“Selah” is a short but meaningful term woven into the Psalms and Habakkuk.

While its exact meaning directs to “pause,” “exalt,” or “lift up,” the overall effect is to draw us into acknowledging the LORD’s majesty, mercy, and mighty acts.

As we practice and abide more in the Selah moments, it becomes easier when God tells us to ‘stand’ and ‘to position ourselves’. 

Exodus 14:13+14 “And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

2 Chronicles 20:17 “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”

1 Corinthians 16:13 “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love”.

Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage”.

Ephesians 6:10 +13 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”.

Prayer:

Yehovah Nissi, Lord You are our Banner! Exodus 17:15

Thank you Heavenly Father, thank You Jesus our Redeemer and King, that as we approach Passover, we are reminded of what You did for us, in order that we can be reconciled with You.

We realise the indescribable privilege, and the need that we have, to come boldly to Your throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. 

Help us Lord to spend more time in Your presence, being served by You, being washed in Yor Word, rather than to be trying to fight our battles on our own.

Today we stand, clothing ourselves with Your armour and getting ready to position ourselves and to go where You, Holy Spirit, will guide us to.

Speak words of Life, Hope and Victory from a heart of Love

Moses interceded for the people, who kept complaining, before God.

Numbers 14:20-21 “Then the LORD said: “I have pardoned, according to your word; but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD”.

Numbers 14:27-28 “I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, As I live,’ says the LORD, just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you”.

Numbers 13:30 “Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha”.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”.

1 John 4:4 “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father we praise and honour You! You are sovereign and the ultimate ruler over all creation, both the seen and the unseen. You have dominion and authority over all armies, powers and heavenly and earthly forces. You are Lord of Hosts YHWH Sabaoth!

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.” Psalms 51:10-13

Please strengthen us Holy Spirit and fill our mouths with Your words of Hope, Life, encouragement to persevere through the difficult times and challenges.

Give us “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, enlighten the eyes of our understanding that we may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in those who trust in You, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power which You worked in Christ when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

You put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to us, the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all”. (Ephesians 1:17-23)

Only God can fully satisfy

Isaiah 55:1-13 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor. Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Prayer

Heavenly Father, Mighty God! Thank you that you are always faithful, You are our redeemer, our provider, protector and our healer.

Forgive us when we try to strive on our own and are relying on carnal things and worldly unreliable things and support, instead of resting and trusting in You.

Teach us how to follow Your ways and Your will and to implement Your good timing in all that we do.

Only You can truly satisfy us.

“Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for  mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things”. Psalms 107:8-9

Transform and restore us more into Your likeness Lord. Please give us Your divine discernment in making daily choices.

Lord Jesus today we pray for those who are in bondage and slaves to some kind of addiction.

May they have a revelation of Who You Are and realise that You are the Living Water, the Bread of Live and that only You can fulfil in all their needs and desires.

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God”. Ephesians 3:17-19

Jesus is the Truth. He is our High Priest.

He is our Mediator and Defender. Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, but satan condemns us.

Job 2:1-6 “Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause”.

John 14:6-7 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

John 8:31-32 “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Hebrews 4:14-16 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”.

Revelation 12:10 “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night”.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you that you love us unconditionally, and that You love us too much to leave us, as, and where, we are.

Thank You Jesus that You are our Saviour and that anyone who believes in You and repent, can be filled and strengthened by You, Holy Spirit.

Psalms 40:1-3 “I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD”.

Help us Lord to clearly discern between Your Word of Truth, and the lies, the accusations and condemnation of satan.

John 14:15-18 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you”. 

Romans 8:15-17 “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together”.

1 Peter 5:8-11 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever”.

Choices, Choices, Choices

Every day we can either be grateful or grumpy as we wake up and receive the gift of a new day, making one choice after the other, concerning our body (lifestyle, what we say and do, etc…), our soul (our will, emotions, thoughts/reasoning, perception…), and our spirit (Who is King of our lives. Which spirit we allow to enter our hearts to guide and teach us.)

As humans we have the gift of free will, and our choices carry consequences that affect our lives, relationships, and spiritual destiny.

Life is not easy, even if it ‘seems’ like some just fly, while others carry all the heavy blows. We always have a choice in Who we trust to carry us through, how tight we keep holding His hand, fully trusting and knowing He has already defeated the enemy.

We can choose Who we give our pain and hurt to and if we can forgive and not take offense that will only continue to poison our own hearts and minds.

We realise that we should treasure the freedom to choose, as there are millions physically enslaved in human trafficking. There are millions enslaved by addictions and other emotional and mental torments.

Joshua 24:14-15 “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! …choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, ……. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Galatians 6:7-9 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Revelation 3:19-22 “Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you that we can know You as our loving Father. You are righteous and holy, and that is why You sent Your Son Jesus to redeem us from darkness, as we are all born with a sinful nature and need to be reconciled to You through accepting/ choosing Jesus as our Saviour.

Help and guide us Holy Spirit as we face each day, that every choice we make will honour and glorify You and may it be according to Your will Father God. Let Your Kingdom come, in and through us. (Matthew 6:9) When we fall by making bad decisions Lord, please do not stop pursuing us to pick us up and guide us back.

We choose to be the voice for the voiceless, to advocate for the release of those who are enslaved and to initiate and facilitate focussed prayer.

“For we know that You can meet them where we can’t, and You can unlock the shackles that restrain them and You can open before them the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut: You can go before them and make the crooked places straight; You can break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron”. Isaiah 45:1-2

Help every shattered soul who are reached through the message of Valuable to Jesus, that they will choose life and be healed by YOU and may they be restored to become agents of healing and transformation.

Help us to empower the next generation to know their identity in You and to make good choices and have a hope for a better future.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
